Help....I need more layouts!

Hi everyone...

I had a busy day today. It's Wednesday, so my morning started with church. It was only a small group because it was a pretty snowy morning and the roads weren't very good. I made it both directions without incident, however. Next, I had to go make the dogs legal and get their dog licenses. Just a quick stop into the Town Hall...which is, conveniently, next door to the church. It's a small village with a square. Very quaint Victorian village. Mags would love it here...lol. Actually, it's now a university town so it's filled with about 7,000 students! We have quiet summers, however.

My next stop was the senior's home where, of course, I overate. The food is very good on Wednesdays because it is the day the residents are allowed to have guests for lunch. They put on a big buffet to impress everyone. I think the rest of the week they eat hot dogs...lol. Anyway, I had a nice time, but my friend can't stay up very long. She's having a very difficult time recovering from the pneumonia she had last fall. She just can't get her strength back. Of course, she has aides all day but I don't think they do much to promote her wellbeing. Every time I call her she is sleeping. I think that's all she does...sleep and eat. Of course, I pretend I'm her mother and tell her what she should do. She's starting to develop Alzheimer's now, and in and out of lucidity. Poor woman. She had a friend that they whisked away to the Alzheimer's unit, which is in the other wing of the facility but they won't let them visit unsupervised. I'm not sure what they're afraid of...lol. They are both in their 80's and can't even remember what they're supposed to do...lol.

There haven't been many layouts today, so it won't be a monster blog. Everyone must be having the day off....or maybe you just need a new kit...lol. You'll be getting one, tomorrow. Wanna see a preview?

Here it is. Of course, not everything in the kit can be shown in this preview, but it will give you an idea.

It's another girlie kit appropriately named Pretty Girl. So...get out all those girl pictures again and lets see what you can produce. I have a very nice bonus for those of you who send in a layout, but I won't show THAT to you until tomorrow. Some things have to be kept secret!

If you're interested in any of the other Bonus Add-ons for the other kit, all you have to do is send a layout. My Challenges are never ending. If I've missed sending you bonus to you, please drop me a line and remind me. The Bonus for the Taffeta Moments Challenge has not gone out yet, so please be patient. Any day, now, I'll surprise you with it. I hope you trust me!

The first layout I'd like to share with you was sent in by Lynn. Lynn has used Genie's Template #8 to scrap this gorgeous picture that brings back some of her childhood memories.

Lynn wrote: " I thought you might like to see this page. I am trying out different papers and elements from different kits you provide to us. The paper as you know is from the primary plaids papers and it is cream and blue. I used template #8 and just a few elements on each corner of the frame.I filled in the template with some textured colors from my editing program. I really like the softness of this layout from the blue colors, besides, it is my favorite color. "

I really love this template. I'm not a big fan of round frames, but many are. I much prefer to put a picture into a rectangular or square frame, even oval. This template, with it's rectangular frame in a round mat really does the trick for me. I see Lynn likes it, too. You've chosen beautiful colors to complement your photo. The soft background is perfect for the blues of the mat and the water and sky. The pewter color of the elements from Beth's TTY Jan kit are perfect to embellish this tranquil scene. Thanks, so much, Lynn, for sharing this layout with us.

Cra-Z-cat is still busy scrapping some of her winter and Christmas pictures and has used a combination of things to come up with this layout. You all remember that beautiful sand sculpture at the Harrisburg Mall? Cra-Z-cat has focused on some of the individual elements of the sand sculpture, and this one features the snowman holding the North Pole sign.

She's used Christine's Abstract Kit for the main part of her layout, but she's added that beautiful Snowflake Overlay that Beth made (given out for a bonus for the TTY Feb Challenge) and one of the Glitter Snowmen to embellish her page.

Cra-Z-cat has turned this layout into a quickpage for you. I'm sure you must have more winter or Christmas photos to scrap, yourselves.

If you can make use of Cra-Z-cat's Abstract Quickpage #7, click here to download. Please don't hotlink to this file. If you'd like to share it with your friends, please send them here, to my blog. Thank you.

Jody has sent in this next layout for the Sweet Shyanne Challenge. See...ladies. These challenges are getting you scrapping instead of just downloading...lol. I need more, I guess.

This adorable little sweetheart is Jody's great granddaughter (by marriage), Gracen. Jody says that even though this child is not a blood relative, her daughter is loving being a grandmother. Who could resist that sweet little bundle of joy!

Jody has chosen the pink background, which she's trimmed with eyelet lace, and has used the lavender paper as a mat to show off the picture, which is in one of Linda's frames. She's used some of Linda's hearts to embellish her layout. A simple name completes the layout. It's a beautiful, soft layout, Jody. Thank you for sharing it with us. I hope you enjoy your package of Sweet Shyanne Add-ons.

The other day, I showed a lovely Sweet Shyanne layout that Bet made to share with us. In a senior's moment, I inadvertently forgot to give you the quickpage for it. How forgetful of me. Maybe the administrative assistant needs an administrative assistant...lol I didn't realize I had one and found it when I was numbering my new pages. I want to correct that, now, by giving it to you. I know there were lots of nice comments on her layout, so I know you'll want her quickpage.

Here is Bet's Sweet Shyanne Quickpage #17. Remember, it's the cute layout where she's used the tag for a frame! Novel idea and one I think is quite good! She's darkened the background, too, which gives it a different look from all the others.

If you'd like to have Bet's Sweet Shyanne Quickpage #17, click here to download. Please don't hotlink to this file. If you'd like to share it with your friends, please send them here, to my blog. Thank you.

The next layout was sent in by Lee in Fl. She's used the "water" like paper from the Gone Fishing kit to scrap this picture of her friend Ernie. Lee has had her hand at extracting a picture from it's background and done a fine job.

It's not an easy thing to do with a mouse. In fact, it's a lot of tedious work. Lee's added a comical element to her layout, putting a hat on Ernie's head and sitting him in the boat. That's a nice looking salmon he has there. Lee has used the border for her journaling. Great work on the extraction, Lee. It gets easier with practice.

I have another one of Mags' absolutely gorgeous Victorian quickpages to share with you tonight. I'm sorry that I don't have a picture to slip into this beauty. I haven't had a chance to scan any of my photos, yet. Just look at the detail on this page! Once again, Mags has used pieces of my Taffeta Moments Kit as her inspiration but she's taken in one step further and added her own special touches that only Mags can do. She definitely has an eye for this type of page. Her mat, corner treatments and ornate frames are perfectly set off with the flowers and bows. Add some journaling to that beautiful journaling box and you're all set.

The next layout was sent in by Cra-Z-cat. She's scrapped another picture of her husband, Tony, that was taken while he was out on Lake Erie, doing something he loves best....heading out to go FISHING!

Cra-Z-cat's used the patterned background paper and made her own border pieces using another paper and template from the kit. She's placed them on an angle making a reverse mat for the pictures. She's embellished them with fishing rods. The pictures are "tacked on" using buttons. The little man, fishing in the boat and the title "Gone Fishing" complete the layout.

Cra-Z-cat has made a quickpage to share with you.

If you'd like Cra-Z-cat's Gone Fishing Quickpage #4, click here to download. Please don't hotlink to this file. If you'd like to share it with your friends, please send them here, to my blog. Thank you.

This next layout I'd like to share with you was sent by Beth. She's used my Taffeta Moments, with a slight variation, to scrap this pair of pictures. It's a picture of Beth and her daughter, Abigail, at the age of about 3 months. As Beth's journaling says....there is NO doubt about whose daughter she is! She's just the spitting image of Beth!!!

Beth
has made a simple layout, using the silvery chain mail-like background paper and she's added a black outer edge to it. She's embellished the background paper with an overlay of swirls adding a feminine touch to her layout. The two framed baby pictures are completed by the journaling box which tells the story. Nice layout, Beth. Thanks for sharing it with us. It would be interesting to see another comparison photo at an older age. Have you got some, Beth?

Beth has made a quickpage to share with you.

I was playing around, last night, and made you a little package of Bows, Buttons and Ribbons. The package contains 4 Bows, 4 Straight Ribbons, 4 Pinched Ribbons, and 9 Buttons. I'm sure you can find a place to use them. (But ... don't expect a kit ... lol...well ... probably not ... but you never know! Maybe one of the girls will put one together for me.)

Message Center

Betty (lovetocraftbetty) - I am trying to post layouts when I receive them so that I don't get behind...so then, some days, there are tons and other days, like today, there are few. There is no happy medium.

Anne - How was your day with T? Hope you had fun and aren't too tired out. No matter how your Taffeta Moments QP came about, it was lovely and many thought so. I guess I need to put out a boy kit so that you can scrap some pictures of T.

genie - You've been missing in action lately. Haven't seen you on Skype. Hope everything is going well...or should I be sending a file? lol

scangel - How did you make out today...being your day off? Did you get a layout made? If so, I'd love to see it.

scrapcat4914 - Get yourself better! Spring is coming...some day! I thought you loved dogs better from all that you said around Christmas. I stand corrected...lol. Now...why not help out the cat side? Thanks for all your support and prayers. They mean a lot to me and everyone. :)

Lynn - You had a bad day today...lol. Where are all those layouts? Just teasing. It usually gets to be this time and the email dings and dings with your gorgeous layouts. Haven't asked lately how you're feeling? I tried to find some pictures of the Wife of the Year...but so far no luck. I found lots of other cute things, though. I'm set for about a year, now!

Suhrfer - I would say you overdid it yesterday...and then to have to work too. The first day back at work is always the hardest. I hope you are feeling better by the time you read this. How's that little sweetheart Olivia doing? You missed your visit with her this weekend. I hope you got pictures to make up for it. We need a blow by blow pictorial update...lol. It will be so nice to see all these darling babies growing up through their layouts.

Cra-Z-cat - Glad you're enjoying the closing pics. It takes some hunting, but I've been lucking out, so far. I thought that bubble was pretty gross, too...I just had to share it! Hope you got your work finished early enough to do some scrapping. I'll look for you tomorrow afternoon, if not sooner.

Linda (lwlittlebit) - You got in just under the wire tonight...lol. You usually post your comment after my blog goes up. You are ahead of yourself tonight...lol. Your Sweet Shyanne Extras were a hit. Thanks, so much, for making them. That dog was pretty disgusting. No cat would do that...lol.

Thanks, again, for all the wonderful comments you've left me. It's the first thing I do every morning. I look for your comments and answer your email while I enjoy my first cup of coffee. I admit I'm bleary eyed but nothing will prevent me from coming to the computer. You make my day!

I'm about talked out and my eyes have given out. I have extremely dry eyes and after while, I produce my own drop shadow...and it's very hard to work because I don't know whether it's my eye's drop shadow or Photoshop's drop shadow...lol. A bad predicament to be in.

Before I leave you for the night, I'll have show you a funny picture to end the day. We're all adults, here, so I hope I don't offend anyone. I roared when I saw it and couldn't leave it unshared.

See you tomorrow.

Hugs.

Good morning!
You drive us hard Marlene but if you need more layouts, what can we do but (try to) oblige?!
Maybe your post is shorter than usual but still some great layouts.
I like your choice of colours Lynn - they set off that lovely photo just perfectly.
Cra-z-cat - those sand sculptures are amazing. You must have a great collection of pages by now.
Jody - I love the clean simple lines of your Sweet Shyanne layout and the way it picks up the colour of Gracen's hat.
Thanks Marlene for the Gone Fishing kit - those layouts are always fun to look at. (I admire the way you've extracted that photo, Lee).
And last but not least thank you Mags and Beth for the Taffeta Moments layouts.
That's it - my tea's drunk and I'm ready to start my day.
Bye for now

Hey, Mar...

Just want you to know I'm still here...busy, as I explained in my last email. I miss you!

Please add to your soldier's prayer list: Joe S. He's my son's friend, 21 yrs old, just had a baby girl on Jan. 21. He shipped out yesterday for Kuwait and will be running supply trucks between there and Bahgdad....a *very* dangerous job. Pray for him, his young wife and daughter. Thanks.

Good Morning Marlene and all,
Great goodies on here the last few days, thanks to all that share with us. I haven't been on here much as I'm still trying to shake this flu or whatever it is. I'm so sore from all this coughing. Maybe I'll feel like playing with a layout today, I sure hope so anyway. Have a great day!

Wow Marlene! Nature has no shame!!!
The layout are beautiful. So many ideas and so much talent. Your new kit looks intriguing. With 3 grand daughters, I think it is perfect.
You just may regret asking for more layouts:)
Take care and be well.

I can see I'm going to be up late tonight waiting for the new kit! I love it already! Hmmm - I wonder if I can find any pictures for it - LOL!

Love the buttons & bows as well - I definitely feel a kit coming on! Thank so much for them. You know how I am with anything pink!

Lynn, I love what you've done with the template! Your choice of colors is just perfect for the picture. Such a peaceful scene!

The snowflake overlay really pops on the dark paper, Cra-Z-cat! Great layout - I like the date embossed on the picture! Love the corner mats you put on your fishing layout - and the buttons.

Jody, I love how you've framed the page in lace and then again on the mat! Such an adorable baby!

Lee, how original! Love the extracted picture!

You've outdone yourself, Mags! Your QP is simply stunning! You really have a gift for the Victorian look.

I'll have to get some pictures of me as a child from Mom. This one was the only one I have because I used it in Abigail's baby book.
As soon as I saw the Taffeta Moments kit, I thought that it would be fun to give a playful feel to it.

The timer went off and recess is over. Back to school...

Lynn, your photo of the Dana Point Harbor is gorgeous and the layout you created truly compliments the picture.

I had trouble downloading last night from 4Share so came back this morning and got all these lovely goodies with no problems - thanks to all who shared their quick pages!!

Have a great day! Betty

Have a great day.

Everyone that has their pages displayed, did a really good job. The last picture just reminds me of the animals when I lived in the country. The dogs when mating were something else. When I first looked at the picture, I thought the animal was putting its baby in its pouch! I thought of a lot of other comments, but best not said here!

Lee, you never said if you tried the weights or not for the Alt key.
