Fish fry Friday has arrived!

Here it is, Friday already! Where did the week go. I seems like I just got back but I've been home 4 days, already. I have accomplished quite a bit this week.

I must confess, though, that today I spent more time on designing. I don't usually do that first thing. My routine has been email, first thing while I drink my morning coffee, and then start the previews and start uploading to the blog. I didn't do that today. I got all involved with making another new kit...that's 2 days in a row! Before I knew it, it was afternoon and I hadn't done anything but make the bed and throw in a load of laundry. Oh yes, I emptied the dishwasher, too. Wow...the housework is never going to get done at that rate! I had to break down and get the vacuum cleaner out this afternoon and, after I cleaned our bathroom, I began vacuuming the rest of the house. I did a thorough job, too. :) I hope there won't be any complaints from the male member of this household...lol.

Fish fry tonight! I guess it will be the Legion Hall again. It's our favorite place, so if you never need to find me, you'll know where I am. We always have dinner with our friends Lucy and Dave. She always calls me on Friday to let me know it's Friday and make sure we're joining them. We've been doing it for years!

The carpenter is still working downstairs. We set him back when we went away. He's getting ready to start on the ceiling. That's won't be an easy job with all the duct work down there but, when it's all done, we'll have a huge family room, a bathroom and a bedroom where there was just a huge empty room previously. I also have a storage room and a huge exercise room....if I ever get the boxes emptied! Any volunteers? You could come and spend the summer. How about it Genie? I hear you're good at organizing!

I have an interesting layout that Cra-Z-cat sent in to share with you. She's scrapped more of the pictures that were taken at Valerie's graduation.

Cra-Z-cat has used the Crazy for Copper Kit and my Double Frame and come up with this fabulous multi-photo layout. She's cut the frame all apart and she's totally changed its configuration. Look how she's placed the corner elements. I love it, Cra-Z-cat. The journaling beside each picture is a great idea, too. I like that the pictures have an orange copper glow, too. The really suit the other parts of the page. Thank you for sending it to show us.

Cra-Z-cat has also made a quickpage from her layout.

I have Part 3 of Louisiana Lady's Candyland Brag Book Series to give you tonight. It's a great little Brag Book Series and will be perfect for all your children's or grandchildren's summer or birthday pictures.

There are 12 bright and colorful pages in this series. I am going to show you the previews of all the pages, in case you've missed a couple of nights visiting the blog. I'm sure that, once you see them, you'll want to collect all the parts.

Aren't they sweet? I'd love to see what you do with them so bundle them up and send them along to show on the blog.

Here's a larger preview of Part 3 of the Candyland Brag Book Series.

Remember that cute Passion for Pansies Quickpage that Suhrfer gave you a few days ago? Well, she's packaged up the Pansy Border and the lovely Pansy Element that she used for her page. She'd like you to have them so you can add them to other layouts. They're her favorite flower!

This is the second of the beautiful 4 x 6 pages that Christine made to send out as a birth announcement. She made 3, in total. She put so much work into them that she thought it would be a shame not to share them with you. They would make a cute baby or kid's Brag Book page. I've called them Announcements, because that was the reason she made them but they are just your normal Brag Book Page.

I have the latest in Bet's fabulous Through the Window Series to show you tonight. Aren't these layouts the best? They've been so popular!

Here's an adorable page with a view from, or into, the nursery. She's scrapped a picture of her granddaughter, Amanda, looking in at the two dolls having a tea party.

Bet's extracted the dolls, and a clown who's standing watch from the corner. She's made an upstairs room, this time, with slanting ceilings and low walls. How cool is that? She's got an inswinging window and she's placed one of my discs on the wall above it. Just look at the baseboards and all those angles Bet's mastered! You are just so creative, Bet! Thank you for another beautiful Through the Window layout.

Bet's turned this layout into a quickpage, too! I know you'll want this one. It's so unique!

Prayer Chain

Please take a few minutes to remember our friends who are in need of our intercessory prayer. Prayer is a powerful tool and it's such a comfort to those in need to know we have included them at this special time.

I've had a request from Milliejs to add people who are fighting mental imbalances to our prayer list. She reminds us that God can do what man cannot.

I have added JudyR's grandson, Adam, to our list of servicemen. He's been stationed in Iraq for almost a year, this time. Please keep him in your prayers.

Jesus said: "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them." (Mark 11:24)

Almighty God, you have promised to hear the petitions of those who ask in your Son's Name. We ask you, mercifully, to hear us as we make our prayers and supplications to you. Grant that those things which we faithfully ask, according to your will, may effectually be obtained. Give us grateful hearts, O Father, and make us mindful of the needs of others. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

We ask your blessing and healing for our friends we name: Pansynana, Irene, Rita, Mrs. C and family, Larry, James, Juliet, Brendan, Ken, Logan, Rachel, Mags, Kim, Anne, shelbz, Kathy, Destiny, silverghost, Catt, Jamie, David, Ryan, Spencer, Claudia, Sandie, and Jane. Fill them with your peace that surpasses all understanding, and guard their hearts and minds with Your settling presence.

We ask you also, Heavenly Father to watch over those in the military who are serving their countries. We especially ask you to take Adam, Joe S., Devon, Bill, Mandy, shelbz's husband, and Jacob into Your keeping. Defend them with Your grace, strengthen them in their trials. Give them courage to face any peril they may face. Grant them a sense of Your abiding presence wherever they go. Give them an overwhelming awareness of Your love. Be with their families, especially Geralyn, Lizzie, and others, and give them strength to cope with all that they have to endure.

We know your power and we know your might. We ask that you deliver all who are battling drug addiction from their bondage. Give them peace and patience as they work through their issues. Set them free, Lord, so that they may resume their normal lives. Lead them not into temptation but deliver them from evil.
Help their families to forgive them even though they have been badly hurt.

We ask you also, Heavenly Father, to guide and protect those people who are suffering with mental imbalances. Life, for them, is difficult. Fill them with your healing Spirit and help them to overcome their problems and resume a normal life.

Lord, please Bless Linda S's son, and all who are incarcerated. Let Your Perfect Justice cut through and aid them now. Grant them Mercy so that they may be released at the earliest possible moment and go home to their families.

We offer prayers for those who have lost their lives in the earthquake in Sichuan, China, and for their grieving families. Please give strength and hope for the thousands of people rendered homeless by this disaster, for those anxiously awaiting information of the fate of their family members and friends, and for the rescue workers and health care workers struggling to cope with this disaster. Comfort and strengthen them all, and touch the hearts of all of us who are safe and happy so that we may reach out with spiritual energy.

Defend us, deliver us, and in your compassion protect us, O Lord, by your grace. Amen.

Christine - I know, without a doubt, that you NEVER had doubts about being a grandmother. I' e heard nothing but that for months, now! You are so fortunate to be close to them so you can enjoy every step of the way. I'm afraid, I was very far from both my granddaughters and only got the pictures and never the real "treats" of watching them develop. My organization did pay off last night but I'm afraid that I spent far too much time on the designing end of things today and let the time slip away from me. It's just so much fun. And...you know what they say "Time flies when you're having fun!" I'm sure you understand that! Hope you have a great weekend, if I don't talk to you.

Genie - I'm anxiously awaiting your templates. I hate running out of them. Those cute photos are out there...you just have to search. Of course, I have a few people that supply me with the odd "goodie". I'm open for all cute pictures. If you find one, just drop it in an email and send it along. I appreciate and accept all contributions. I hope you're weekend is relatively uneventful and that you have a chance to unwind and do something for yourself. By the way...How was the shopping spree? Did you get any screaming bargains?

Scrapcat4914 - The weekend must be coming up if the weather's getting bad. Isn't that always the way? I hear the man next door mowing his lawn so that must be a sign of rain. Bill will be wanting to get back out there. He usually mows a couple times a week and when we were gone, it got away on him. He doesn't like when there are little clumps of cut grass all over the lawn. He has about 6 acres or more to mow so it takes quite a while. I think it's a good thing that you don't know if the baby will be a boy or girl. That makes for anticipation. :) I'll bet you can't wait for the baby to be born, can you? I hope you get all your unzipping done. I have files that I downloaded before I began blogging that still aren't unzipped and they likely will never get unzipped! How's that for a backlog? Someday...I keep saying..someday!

Lee in Fl. - So..you hired your housekeeper! Great! I hope she works out and you get everything you want to get done completed and you can get back to scrapping. I'm glad you are still finding time to get on the blog, even if you don't comment or download. You can keep up with what's going on, anyway. The freebies will still be there when you get the time to download them. Please drop us a note from time to time to say hi and let us know how it's going.

Sheila - Thanks for your kind words. How about a layout with Suhrfer's new kit to show your appreciation...lol. I always seem to be begging, don't I? I wrote to JudyR and suggested she make a QP from that layout...just for you!

Betty (lovetocraftbetty) - My memory is good...it's just not reliable...lol. I'm glad I got the right day. I just remember when you sent that layout of Daisy as a baby and you said it was taken on the day you got her. Then, you said she was a birthday gift. I noticed the date on the layout said May 15 and had to make a mental note of it. I didn't want to miss the chance to wish you a happy birthday. I get a bit screwed up since I post at night because for most people, when I post, their day is over. My night before's blog should have included your birthday wish. Oh well...It got posted on the night of the 15th, anyway. Next year, I'll try to remember to post it on the 14th for you. :) Hope your mom is back to her old self soon. :)

The time has come to say goodnight, again. Boy my days are going by fast!

I want to thank all of you for visiting and say thank you to those of you who took the time to leave a comment for us. We all appreciate your kind words.

I have another cute joke to share with you. I received it yesterday, in my email, from Suhrfer.

A Minister's Business Card

A new minister was visiting the homes of the church members. At one house it seemed obvious that someone was at home, but no answer came to his repeated knocks at the door. Therefore, he took out his business card and wrote 'Revelation 3:20' on the back of it and stuck it in the door.

When the offering was processed the following Sunday, he found that his card had been returned. Added to it was this cryptic message, 'Genesis 3:10.'

Reaching for his Bible to check out the citation, he broke up in gales of laughter. Revelation 3:20 begins 'Behold, I stand at the door and knock.' Genesis 3:10 reads, 'I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid for I was naked.'

Thanks, Suhrfer!

On that note, I'll say goodnight.

See you all tomorrow.

Hugs.

Well Marlene I, for one, am definitely not upset to hear that you have spent time designing - if it means another great kit is in the offing!!!

Cra-z-cat : Your layout is gorgeous. I love the way you've placed all the elements and that building, the Forum, looks very impressive.

Suhfer : thanks for the lovely border. I'd noticed it on the QP you made.

Bet - I'm running out of superlatives to describe your window layouts. This one's very original.

I love the joke at the end of the post.

Have a good day everyone.

PS : We're all excited because Tia and her mum are coming home from the hospital today!!!

Love your closing, Marlene, I was in need of a good laugh.

I'm home for the weekend; my brother is staying with my Mom. I had things to do around my house so came home to catch up. Then, wouldn't you know it, today, of all things, my sewer line backed up because it was blocked with tree roots so, the Roto Rooter man is here right now!! Good thing I came home to check my house today.

After that diaster and cleanup, I'm planning to enjoy the rest of my day by reading all your posts that I have missed and collecting some new, lovely pages, etc.

I've sure missed visiting here.
Take care everyone. Betty
