So, you are not going to get much of a blog tonight. I decided I might just as well indulge myself and have a day of rest. Next week is going to be hectic. In fact the next month is going to be hectic.
I've enrolled in a course which will be held each Friday, for the month of June, and runs from 9:00 am til 5:00 pm. It's an hour drive each way so that will make for a long day. It's a course in hypnosis. It's something I've always been fascinated with and when Dave (our fish fry friend) told us he'd enrolled, I said I should do it, too. He called the instructor and I've been accepted into the course! I got a bit of a scare when it said I had to print out a 580 page book...and that "books" were available for purchase the first day of class. How many books do you suppose that means? When am I going to find time to read them, do my assignments, clean the house, do my church commitments, design and blog? lol. I think you'll be seeing my "I'm stressed" picture quite a bit in June. I'll do my best, of course, to get everything done. This is an expensive course, well $500.00 + books, so I don't want to take it too lightly. It is a certificate course that is recognized by the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association. I'm anxious to start. I suppose I should look over the text book that I have to print before I begin. I put it onto my laptop and maybe I can read that at night while I'm in bed. Dave is going to have the book printed for us by the printer to save some time and effort.
That's about all that's new with me. How about you? Anything interesting going on in your lives? If so, why not leave a note in the comment section?
Well, we're all finished hearing about the various members of my Creative Team. I hope you enjoyed finding out all of the scoop on them. I think it helps to know a bit about everyone. It makes us seem more like real people.
Since I've had a self-indulgent day, today, I'm only going to give out one freebie. I know you'll understand. I'm sure you've all been busy this weekend having a great time. You know the saying..."All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy"! I thought I could use the R&R, too.
Tonight, I have a new kit for you. It's not a huge kit but one I hope you can use. I've called it Sweet Violets.
I've made this kit so that it would be suitable for both male and female pictures. It has 6 Papers (2 patterned papers and 4 plain colored, textured papers), 3 Silky Bows and 3 Rope Bows, 3 Foil Hearts and 3 Heart Buttons, 3 Rope strings and 3 Satin Ribbons, 3 Butterflies, 8 Cardboard Frames (4 with green .rope and 4 with purple rope), and a bouquet of Violets and Lily of the Valley.

I have broken the kit into 2 downloads. Be sure to DOWNLOAD BOTH PARTS.
Sweet Violets Part 1 Click here to download.
Sweet Violets Part 2 Click here to download.
Please don't hotlink to these file. If you'd like to share them with your friends, please send them here, to my blog. Thank you.

Prayer Chain
Please take a few minutes to remember our friends who are in need of our intercessory prayer. Prayer is a powerful tool and it's such a comfort to those in need to know we have included them at this special time.
Jesus said: "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them." (Mark 11:24)
Almighty God, you have promised to hear the petitions of those who ask in your Son's Name. We ask you, mercifully, to hear us as we make our prayers and supplications to you. Grant that those things which we faithfully ask, according to your will, may effectually be obtained. Give us grateful hearts, O Father, and make us mindful of the needs of others. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
We ask your blessing and healing for our friends we name: Willy, Pansynana, Irene, Mrs. C and family, Larry, James, Juliet, Ken, Logan, Rachel, Mags, Kim, Anne, shelbz, Kathy, silverghost, Catt, Jamie, David, Ryan, Spencer, Claudia, Sandie, and Jane. Fill them with your peace that surpasses all understanding, and guard their hearts and minds with Your settling presence.
We ask you also, Heavenly Father to watch over those in the military who are serving their countries. We especially ask you to take Adam, Joe S., Devon, Bill, Mandy, shelbz's husband, and Jacob into Your keeping. Defend them with Your grace, strengthen them in their trials. Give them courage to face any peril they may face. Grant them a sense of Your abiding presence wherever they go. Give them an overwhelming awareness of Your love. Be with their families, especially Geralyn, Lizzie, and others, and give them strength to cope with all that they have to endure.
We know your power and we know your might. We ask that you deliver all who are battling drug addiction from their bondage. Give them peace and patience as they work through their issues. Set them free, Lord, so that they may resume their normal lives. Lead them not into temptation but deliver them from evil. Help their families to forgive them even though they have been badly hurt.
We ask you also, Heavenly Father, to guide and protect those people who are suffering with mental imbalances. Life, for them, is difficult. Fill them with your healing Spirit and help them to overcome their problems.
Lord, please Bless Linda S's son, and all who are incarcerated. Let Your Perfect Justice cut through and aid them now. Grant them Mercy so that they may be released at the earliest possible moment and go home to their families.
Defend us, deliver us, and in your compassion protect us, O Lord, by your grace. Amen.

Anne - I agree with you, Anne. I am amazed with all the pages the girls come up with! Like you, I thought that I'd make a layout with a kit and be done with it but they've opened my eyes, as well. It would be nice to scrap a series of related pictures with the same kit but a variety of ideas. I can't wait to get into my pictures! Now I understand about T. I hope his toe is getting better. It sounds like you're having lots of fun with him. I'll bet you're happy summer is here! It's much easier to get outdoors and do things without snow on the ground. I've never heard of White Castle. So, it's your favorite haunt! It's like where we go every Friday. The girl can put in our orders without even having to ask us. We're creatures of habit! You DO sound like you'll be having a busy time for the next little while. I'm sure someone will find something to fill up those gaps. Glasses you do need! So, better get them fixed...post haste! Glad you had some time to drop by. It's always nice to hear from you. :)
Scrapcat4914 - I'm glad I'm not alone in hating to go for groceries. One thing that I always need, too, is dog food! I don't have room on the shelf for too many cans so I can only buy about a week's worth at a time. I'm trying to switch them to dry food but they just won't eat enough. Dusty likes dry food but Ivy only plays with it. She'll eat a bit but not enough to survive on. I've left it there for over a week and she won't eat. I feel sorry for her, then, and give her canned food...which she gobbles down immediately. Did you get all of the rest of your garden finished this weekend? Don't you know...it's supposed to be thunderstorms on Tuesday, the day of the church picnic. Bummer! I hope the good Lord sees fit to change that forecast!
Cactusfreek - You go ahead and pass that joke around as much as you want. I have only one thing to say....Ain't it the truth! :)
Christine - The picnic...by the sounds of it...will be in the house! I'll be doing the same amount of cleaning after the picnic! Did you have a good time with your sister? Have they left? Now, you need Francois to go on another business trip so you can get caught up...lol. I'll be waiting for some layouts of the weekend! :)
Galtscrapper - Yes, you mentioned about you and Jerry being real estate investors. I agree with you about rental property. I had a tennant, once, and he got away with murder because I didn't live in town and I was a softie. Had to sue his butt to get him out of the house and to pay. He owed me $4,000 in back rent and I got the settlement, but then...try to collect. One of these days, when he least expects it...I'll come and take his truck or something...since he has no money. It's a shame that people are like that. Stiffs! You try to do something nice for someone and it comes back to bite you. Sounds like you are on the right track with your breastfeeding. I'm sure the baby will slow down with her feedings once she is being satisfied. Courtney used to fall asleep while she was feeding and I'd have to keep waking her up. She was a preemie and liked to eat every 1 1/2 hours, too. I didn't get much sleep for the first few months, but gradually, it got better. I hope everything levels out for you and you get nicely established into a routine soon.
JudyR - I hope you enjoyed your coffee out on the porch tonight. I'm sorry I was not available to join you. I'd have loved a coffee but I was vegging on the couch watching Band of Brothers. Hope you had a good weekend. I had a mostly unproductive day today, but I deserved it after yesterday!
I've come to the end of another blog. Not a long one, but a blog just the same. It's going to be touch and go for the next month but I'll try to do my best to keep things up the best I can.
I'd like to thank each of you for visiting the blog today. I know it's a busy time of the year for everyone and there are much better things to be doing than downloading freebies. I appreciate, too, that you took the time to leave a comment both here, on the blog, and in the 4 shared accounts. When it's a slow day on the blog, it's a bit discouraging for everyone and we lose our mojo...so it's always nice to read that someone appreciates what we do. Thank you for leaving your praise and encouragement.
Before I leave, I have another picture to share with you. It's an amazing piece of architecture and I can't even imaging seeing it in person.
It's called the Falkirk Wheel and it was built in Scotland so that boats could travel through central Scotland. Here's the link if you'd like to read more about it.
This is an aerial view of the Falkirk Wheel. You can see its enormity.

The reason the Wheel was built was that it replaced a series of 11 locks (dismantled in 1933) which allowed boats to navigate the 115 foot difference between the Forth and Clyde Canal and the Union Canal. Engineers had to come up with a way of lifting and lowering boats between the two levels. Therefore, this spectacular structure was built.
Here are a few more pictures that will give you an idea of the enormity of the Wheel.

This last one shows a couple of boats getting ready to leave the Wheel. It's a very fancy boat elevator!

I guess that's it for tonight.
I hope to see you here tomorrow.
Hugs.

Looks like I'm first this time! Marlene, I'm so glad to see you took lots of time for yourself today. Everyone needs a break now and again.
Sweet Violets is gorgeous! I love the colors.
Lydia graduated from kindergarten this evening. She is such a performer! I'll be sending some layouts - I have to load the pictures. I just can't believe how fast the girls are growing!
hi all..
mar, i missed reading yesterday, but am caught up now.. i found the maple keys article very interesting.. i just never heard that term for them!! rebecca is having loads of fun pickin them up and twirling them when we go on our walks to the park..
yesterday, i didn't get to visit cause i got a stomach virus on fri night while at work.. if my phone woulda been nearby, i woulda called 911 cause my fingers had a tingly feeling. as i was gettin sick, i went into cold sweats.. it was kinda scary and nobody was in the office to assist.. since i couldn't get to my phone, i laid down for 3 hrs. after i woke up i was coherent enough to finish the work and come home.. but the day was a washout as i spent it in bed and went to bed early last night..
it was a slow start today still w/ stomach cramps, but i still went to the pool w/ rebecca. it's over now, thank goodness.. not sure if i ate something bad that caused it or just a stomach flu..
thanks for sharing my lo/qp last night too!!

A course in hypnosis sounds interesting - will it replace whining, I wonder? ;-)
Thanks for the post and the lovely kit. It's nice to hear you took some time out for yourself and your husband. Good luck with the picnic; I hope the weather holds out.
I had a great time with my sister and her family. They went home yesterday; the house always seems so empty straight afterwards but, you're quite right, I DO have a lot of photos to scrap.
Have a good day everyone.
A course in hypnosis - umm! I'd better watch my step! So glad you have taken some 'you' time. It's very necessary for us all.
I had Ella and Alexander for Saturday afternoon and night while Ann and David went to a wedding. So Bob and I took them into the Digital Imaging show which I hadn't realised was on as that time. They had a ball and Ella got lots of balloons, lollies and photos. I gained some wonderful bits and pieces which I still haven't gone right through yet. But Abode was the best bag with 2 DVDs and 1 mag. Fortunately Bob and Ella also got Adobe bags so I got 3 new Photoshop Magazines to read. These retail at $25 each and I have only bought a couple because of the price. So now I have plenty of reading.
Love the violets kit - very pretty. I was planning to do some layouts this afternoon but our freind Ray arrived over and taught me a few new computer tricks. Little beauties too. However tomorrow is another day so I plan to - at this stage - do some layouts. I have figured out that I need to set myself some new scrapbooking goals so am going to aim for a page a day again. Will draw up a list to keep score.
If I am home tomorrow I will go on skype - have to go out early in the morning to look at palm pilots/pds. My next new toy.
Regards

Good Afternoon,
I just came in from spending 3 hours working outside. Think I'll call it a day. So glad you took a day to rest and relax Marlene. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you have good weather for tomorrow.
Wow, thanks for the Sweet Violets, you know I love it! The Falkirk Wheel is really interesting, will have to read more on it when I have time.
Have a Great Day!
Thanks for the kit, its really lovely! The new 4shared format is really driving me buggy -- can't leave comments while waiting for the d/l to start like I used to! aarrgh!
Fascinating pictures of "The Wheel" - it is so amazing all the architectural feats that can be done!! I enjoy reading all the interesting facts and looking at the pictures you post on your blog - kind of like a classroom lesson. I never heard of maple keys so learnt something new on that post, too.
Thanks for the lovely "Sweet Violets" kit - neat frames!!
Well, I haven't been able to do much walking lately (my walking friend has a very bad hip - has had one total hip replacement and probably needs the other hip done) so we only walk on the "good days".
I have been spending so much time at my Mom's (house cleaning, garden/yardwork, etc) and then I come home and have to do my own work. By the end of the day/week I am exhausted.
I did go out for lunch today with a friend (her birthday) and on the way home I stopped and took some pictures of the rivers that are near my place. The day was hot and beautiful, I did up a few of my flower pots when I got home.
Your course sounding interesting; looking forward to your sharing some tidbits with us!
Hope everyone is doing well - take care. Betty
This kit is rich and beautiful! I love it. Thank you. These pictures of the wheel are amazing. Thank you for
